We have been so busy having fun this Summer, it has been difficult to even find the time to write a post about it! In short, Beau has been a very busy and popular little guy. In June, we all made a visit to Ervindale Farm in Laurens for the annual Farm Fest celebration hosted by our dear friend, Cal Stephens. This is something we look forward to every year, and this year was a blast as always. Beau was a bit too young to go in the field to shoot skeet with the other men, but perhaps that is something he can look forward to in the not-so-near future (18 years if mommy has her way, but probably much sooner if daddy gets his way). But he loved seeing the cows and Zell, the donkey. Everyone enjoyed the BBQ, dancing and fellowship! Later in June, we were invited to Heather and Mark Parrott's yard party. More fun times! Heather and Mark have a beautiful house and yard which make for a really enjoyable party setting - especially when there are brownies and pina coladas! It was nice to catch up with Heather and Mark and Cyd and Joey. The 4th of July was spent at "the river" and was marked by Beau meeting his Great Grandma Mercer for the first time. He loves her!
Summer is not over yet, and we still have lots of fun events on the calendar. Aunt Tara is coming to visit in early August after she takes the Bar Exam. Good luck, Aunt Tara! Beau will cross his tiny fingers for you. Later in August, Maimie and Pops will come for a visit which will be really fun. We have daddy's 30th birthday to look forward to. And Clemson football is right around the corner!! We hope Beau will someday understand how much his mommy and daddy wanted a little boy to take along to the Clemson games. This year will be so much fun (right, Tommy Bowden???) His Clemson hat and onesie is all ready to go and we know he will grow to love it as much as we do. Go Tigers! Finally, we have the Republican National Convention in September. Daddy will pack his bags and go to Minneapolis for some work and play. He deserves it! And Maimie will come down to stay with mommy and Beau. It will be lots of fun! Also, we know that there will be a baptism for Beau in the Fall, but we are not sure of the exact date yet. I will post all of the info as soon as it is confirmed.
Finally, I must add that I tried to describe our Summer events in great detail since I was terrible about taking enough pictures. It is hard to tend to a baby and remember to snap photos as well! I will strive to do better!
Stay tuned for a post about all of the cool new things Beau can do!
