I have discovered my tongue!
For Tara and Keith
Smiling at mommy!
Take three!
Well, the primary has come and gone and we are so glad that Lindsey finished with a BIG victory! But not before several more BBQ appearances by Beau, and one trip to Columbia for a Team Graham victory party. Beau had lots of fun meeting lots of new faces from Columbia and D.C. Everybody loves Beau! Beau also did an excellent job of staying in a hotel and sleeping in his pack and play for the first time, and he was careful not to wake up the neighbors. Beau and mommy passed another milestone together as they stayed by themselves for a few nights and took care of each other while daddy was on the road in preparation for the big election. Daddy was missed very much, but it was nice to know that we are capable of staying on our own if needed.
Today is daddy's first Father's Day and after a yummy brunch downtown, we are enjoying a relaxing day at home. Beau gave daddy a new Polo shirt that matches a Polo outfit of his own.
At six weeks, Beau is really growing in size and personality! He is starting to coo and talk (in his own very special language) to us. It is so neat to hear him respond to us with something other than a cry. But the most exciting thing has been the appearance of real smiles. He has been practicing his smiles in his sleep almost since day one, but now he is smiling in earnest - mostly at mommy, sometimes at daddy and even once at Uncle Sanford! It is so hard to catch them with a camera, but we have tried our best. Also, Beau spent some store credit on a snazzy new rainforest swing which he has really been enjoying. Maybe this will help mommy get a shower each day!
Beau is missing his Maimie, Pops, Aunt Tara (who is studying very hard for the bar exam), Uncle Davy and Aunt Heidi and hopes he can see them all soon!
Keep checking back for updates!

I would never cry if I had that hooded frog towel.
Thank goodness he's looking more and more like baby.
