Beau's 1st Haircut

It was a hard decision to get Beau's hair cut! I swore I wouldn't consider it a day before he was two. But it was really starting to get kinda "Kentucky waterfall-ish" in the back, so we thought we might just get it trimmed up a bit. I was really hoping that we wouldn't lose the curls and, thank goodness, plenty of curls remain! We went to Jelly Beans hair salon where they do a very nice job with 1st haircuts. Beau got to sit in a race car, and we really think that he had no idea that his hair was even cut. It only took about 5 minutes and at the end they gave me a certificate for his baby book, all of his curls in a plastic baggie and they gave Beau a balloon. There were no tears (from Beau) and the whole experience was WAY easier than I thought it would be! Beau is checking out his wheels.

Here he is with a mohawk, but he has no idea because he is very busy pushing all of the buttons on the dashboard.

Trying to figure out why we are taking so many pictures! (and also wondering why Daddy is standing there with the video camera)

Lots to look at while driving!

Beau knows that profile pictures are a strong point for him. Very handsome, just like his Daddy.

All done, and Beau is presented with a red balloon!

"The car comes with us, right Daddy?"

Here is Beau's new 'do - complete with "product"! Hope the next step is not "Gym, Tanning, Laundry"!

After the haircut, Daddy treated us to a lunch at Henry's Smokehouse. YUM!

Beau has quickly become an expert at using forks and spoons. Look what a great job he is doing! He got very little on his outfit!

And if you didn't notice in the other pictures, Beau refused to let go of his balloon during lunch. We could not pry it from him kung-fu grip!

And chili for dinner, one of Beau's favorite meals. See how he is STILL holding on to that balloon?
We are currently switching around some rooms in our house in order to set up a really cool 'big boy' room for Beau. He has a new set of bunk beds with truck comforters coming his way (um, the ladder is definitely going in the attic). We think he is REALLY ready for this transition as he can climb out of anything and we want to avoid injury. Hopefully pics of his new room will follow in the next week or two.
