Finally....football season is here! We had a great opening weekend! We took Beau to Clemson for the day on Friday, but Saturday was a nice baby-free date for Mommy and Daddy. Friday was Beau's day to celebrate the Tigers and it had all of the excitement any baby could need for a whole weekend. He was a tired little guy after all of our fun. Here are some First Friday pics:

We watched the parade from the Ridge. Probably the most sober I have ever been at the Ridge.

Whoa....blast from the past! If you are reading this and went to Clemson, you probably took a class with Eddie Smith as your professor. Well, you'll be happy (and not surprised) to know that he is still the same old Eddie! Living at the Ridge, still teaching, still as nice as can be. Edward used to cut through his back door and out of the front door during his walk to class. We spent lots of nights in Tiger Town Tavern with Eddie. So many stories....

I love this picture.

Clapping to Tiger Rag!

C-L-E-M-S-O...N!!!

Beau was really enjoying Tiger Band!

Levon and Keisha Kirkland were the Grand Marshalls.

Here is Gamma Sigma Sigma! We used to win every year!!

Go Gamma Sig! Can anyone remember how Paul Revere goes?

This van (old bread truck) says ClemsonMajorEvents.com. I think they are channeling Adam Witty!

Ahh, Bowman and Tillman. It is like comfort food for my eyes.

Ok, so when we were done watching the parade we headed over to Just More Barbecue right down the road in Pendleton. If you have been there, hearing about our trip might make you jealous. When we were in college, Just More was the place where we would take our parents to show/convince/persuade/prove to them that we were good and responsible and enjoyed doing wholesome things while at school. *snicker* The food is GREAT, but there is also bluegrass music on the weekends. This picture isn't the best, but I didn't want to snap too many and look like a groupie.

We had pork, hash, mac&cheese, corn, green beans, baked beans, hush puppies and blackberry cobbler. The ladies fixing Beau's child's plate were worried that he wouldn't eat pork. Oh how we all did laugh!

One of the special things about Just More is that they have rocking chairs for adults and children near the stage, so when you are done eating you can rock, digest and enjoy the music. Beau was definitely into it!! Check out the video of Beau rocking and clapping at the end of this post!

Beau loves to ROCK.
Ok, now on to gameday photos:

Here we are at BJ and Katie Boling's tailgate. Everyone was celebrating BJ's 30th birthday. Happy Birthday, BJ! Katie is due to have their first baby, a boy, at the end of November. We can't wait to meet Baby Boling!

When we can, we really, really like to get to our seats in the west stands about an hour before game time so we can see the warm ups and see the Tigers walk the field together.

Running down the hill! *tear* Our seats afford a wonderful view of everything, but especially the hill. Also, there is shade at 1pm which is so great during those HOT noon games.

Everybody knows that CJ ran the opening kickoff back for a touchdown (amazing!), but who was the person that won the John Deer as a result?

It wasn't televised, but if you put enough of my pictures together you could probably make a flip book. Or you could just watch it online.

Here is Edward. He is as enthusiastic as I am. We high-five each other after every big play or touchdown. It is fun to watch games with him. Really, games are the most perfect dates ever. He takes me to the concession stand and tells me I can have
anything. Seriously, I consider games really fun dates. And it makes me giggle when he yells "BALL!!!!!".
Well, game day/night goes downhill from here. It rained after the half and it didn't really let up until the game was over and we were in the car. Boo! A little rain doesn't scare us away, though. It just means that the camera doesn't come out. :-)
